concept designs, 2003 Public Market Building

PLACE Architects provided conceptual plans, artistic renderings and cost estimates for a proposed new Public Market building in downtown Puyallup. The structure was designed to be open and airy in the summer and provide a sense of enclosure and protection in the colder months. The simple structure was designed to accommodate a variety of functions from car shows to weddings to a farmers market. The exposed trusses of the vaulted ceiling were conceived as being both utilitarian and expressive of a soaring civic identity while opening the Market to views of the adjacent park.
