Custom Home with a View 2008

Tightly constrained by the site's allowable building area and the County's regulations regarding building on a high bluff, this house on Whidbey Island has a compact footprint and sweeping views. PLACE collaborated with designer Glen Mulvey to refine his initial plans and elevations. Key elements of the design are a sculptural tower with a full roof deck, sunroom, dramatic interior spaces, generous decks and balconies, and a stunning open stair to connect all the levels. Currently under construction, the home will feature a rain screen siding system and radiant heat to take advantage of its southern exposure.
